CHENEY – The boys football team had one of its best starts of the season in a Greater Spokane League game at home against Mead. But as has been the case all season the Blackhawks had a critical point that helped Mead collect a 48-29 win, Oct. 20 at Tom Oswald Field.
The Blackhawks (0-8 GSL) stayed close to the Panthers (4-3, 4-4 all games) for the first two quarters, trailing 21-14 at halftime.
A pair of touchdowns to Camden Collins from Sam Coffin kept Cheney in it as the two connected on conversions of 31 and 22 yards.
