Valley soccer teams eyeing playoffs

SPOKANE VALLEY – With playoff soccer already underway, a couple of Spokane Valley teams are already in the postseason mindset.

The Greater Spokane League 2A division had the West Valley Eagles winning the championship this season, and moving right into a top playoff spot. The Eagles finished their regular season with a 5-0 shutout win over Clarkston Oct. 19, and went undefeated 16-0 on the year.

The East Valley Knights finished third in the division, with 10 wins and six losses on the season.

In the Greater Spokane League 3A and 4A girls soccer division, the Ridgeline Falcons came away with the top spot and the league championship before shutting out Ferris High School 5-0 in their first playoff game on Oct. 24.

University High School, out of the same division finished third in league, and only a game behind Ridgeline in the standings.

Rounding out the top ten, Central Valley sits in the tenth place in the league, going winless through the 2023 season.

The Freeman Scotties finished second in the Northeast 1A division, with a solid 11-5 record.
