Valley slowpitch teams finish strong

SPOKANE VALLEY – High School sports are moving quickly into the post season, and the slow pitch softball teams from Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake have solidified their rankings this year.

The Greater Spokane League has a few teams performing well out of Spokane Valley, and the University Titans are sitting in the top ranked spot in the league 3A division.

The Titans won the league championship after beating Mount Spokane 12-5 on Oct. 20.

It’s the first district title for University slowpitch since dropping from 4A to 3A.

One player had a tremendous game, and that was Abby Watkins who powered three home runs over the fence and brought in six runs during the game.

Ridgeline beat Mead, but were then eliminated by the Walla Walla Blue Devils in the third-place game on Oct. 20.

Central Valley took second place in the 4A competition.

East Valley finished with a record of four wins and 11 losses in the regular season in the 2A bracket.
