Search for missing adult leads to discovery of dead body

SPOKANE VALLEY - In a shocking turn of events during the ongoing search for a missing adult in the picturesque Dishman Hills trail system, search and rescue volunteers made a grim discovery: the lifeless body of an unidentified male.

The investigation began when authorities received a report of a missing adult, whose vehicle was discovered in the parking area near the Dishman Hills trail system earlier on September 12th. Search and rescue teams mobilized to scour the area in hopes of locating the individual. The missing adult was Daniel A. Pronkin, 22, who had not been seen since September 6.

The incident unfolded as dedicated search and rescue teams combed the rugged terrain of Dishman Hills in Spokane Valley in an attempt to locate Pronkin. The finding of the deceased male has now led to a multi-agency investigation involving Major Crimes Detectives, Forensic Unit personnel, and the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office.

The juxtaposition of Daniel A. Pronkin's disappearance and the discovery of the deceased male has cast a pall of uncertainty over the investigation. The search for the missing individual remains ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with pertinent information to come forward. Any information could be crucial not only in locating Pronkin but also in unraveling the mystery surrounding the unidentified male's death.

In response to the incident, the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office has initiated the process of identifying the deceased individual and determining the cause of death. When appropriate, the Medical Examiner's Office will release its findings to the public.
