CHENEY - Cheney High School's Community Day is just around the corner, set to take place on September 23rd. The event promises an exciting day filled with fun, community spirit, and plenty of surprises.
The Cheney High School Marching Band is gearing up for an exciting debut performance of their 2023 field show, titled "Midas." This highly anticipated show is a musical amalgamation composed of five other popular songs, promising to captivate audiences with its artistry and creativity.
One of the most anticipated events of the day is the 50/50 raffle, where attendees have a chance to win half of the money raised by ticket sales.
The dunk tank at Cheney High School's Community Day promises to be a thrilling attraction, where participants, including the Marching Band Director Joshua Wisswell, along with the Superintendent, the head football coach, and even the local police officer (affectionately known as the "yes officer"), will take turns being sent plunging into the water.
A wide range of carnival games will be available, ensuring there's something for everyone. From bouncy houses and obstacle courses to games like cornhole, tic-tac-toe, and marble roll, the event promises non-stop entertainment.
Attendants will be delighted by the array of food options at the event. Food trucks like Kettle Krazy Kettle Corn, Surge Coffee Truck, and High Voltage Creamery will be on-site to satisfy cravings for snacks and sweets. The concession stand will serve up hot dogs, pretzels, candy, and sodas, ensuring that no one leaves hungry.
Around 40 members are lined up to support the Farmer's Market, which does not require a wristband to participate.
The event will take place from 12 pm to 4 pm at Cheney High School, and the 86 band members and color guard are waiting to show off their skills.
