1. I recognize the importance of proactively advocating for our district's values within the law and keeping families informed. District families must be included in the process of their children's education, including sexual health. I am excited to facilitate that process as our district evaluates its chosen sexual health curriculum and strives to meet the needs of our community's students.

2. Public schools' primary role and goal is to prepare children to lead productive lives and be knowledgeable, responsible citizens. Our schools strive to create welcoming and stimulating environments for every student. As the first and best teachers of their children, parents and families play a crucial role in guiding their children's development. The dedicated teachers of our district understand that they work hand-in-hand with families to teach skills that will help students be successful. I support this close partnership to ensure students are socially and academically confident, capable, and prepared for their next steps after graduation.

3. School board directors take an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the state of Washington. In the case of the state mandating vaccines for school workers in a pandemic, there would be a potential conflict between the rights outlined in the Constitution of the United States and the state's directive. As a representative of our district community, I would speak to our people and research the mandate's legality along with the repercussions of compliance versus non-compliance. I would also connect with neighboring districts. Weighing all the information, I would vote to represent our community's best interests.
