Disclaimer: The following questions were answered by candidates in 100 words or less. We do not edit the answers, other than to enforce the word limit.

1. Do you support the state mandated comprehensive sexual health education?  Why or why not? I believe the state approved sexual health education has been accurately researched and made grade-level appropriate by multiple experts. It is important that all students learn about their bodies from trusted, reputable sources, and many of them do not get this information at home. I encourage parents who have questions or concerns about the curriculum to visit the schools to review what is being taught and also see how it is taught in the classroom.

2. Do you support the implementation of social-emotional learning?  Why or why not?

Teaching our students about their emotions and how to process and deal with them is a very important part of school. The social emotional learning curriculum is designed to teach students about how they might feel and what it means to them. The materials are nationally developed, and grade level appropriate, As with any topic at a school, I encourage parents who have questions or concerns to review
