Locals win barrel racing

Cheney women take 1st & 2nd

CHENEY – Now that the dust has cleared from the rodeo excitement, the results have been tallied.

And only 0.19 seconds spanned first- to fifth-place.

Two Cheney women took home first- and second-place in the barrel racing competition.

Lindsey Ham took first with a time of 17.32 seconds, winning $2,421.

Second place was not far behind with Pamela Capper-Coker finishing with a time of 17.41 seconds. She brought home $2,058 in earnings.

Rounding out the Top 5 in barrel racing, Tayla Moeykins of Three Forks, Mont., took third with a run of 17.48 seconds, winning $1,695.

Fourth-place went to Sharon Gow with a time of 17.49 seconds. She won $1,453.

Jamie Olsen of Brock, Texas, came in fifth with 17.51 seconds; she won $1,211 in prize money.
