Man arrested for homicide at Red Top Motel

SPOKANE VALLEY – A man was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder in connection with a death at the Red Top Motel.

Spokane Valley Major Crimes Detectives had been called just before 2:00 p.m. to investigate a suspicious death of a man at the Red Top Motel the previous day according to reports.

During their investigation, detectives determined this incident was a homicide, and identified the suspect as 48-year-old Michael R. Perry.

Probable cause to arrest Perry was established and he was located at approximately 8:45 p.m. on June 11 and safely taken into custody on N. Waterworks Street, north of Trent Avenue.

Perry was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail, charged with Murder 2nd Degree.

Deputies were on scene for several hours collecting data and documenting the scene to gather information.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased along with the cause and manner of death, at a later time, when appropriate.
