Tyler Daze-All the craze

TYLER – Hungry people of the west plains were able to find a hot meal, tables full of local crafts, and displays from the Tyler Station 312 Volunteer Association set up for Tyler Daze on June 3.

Tyler Daze, the annual fundraiser for the Tyler Grange is a community flea market and community feed combo festival that drew hundreds of people this year according to Glen Dean, Treasurer for Tyler Grange 610. He explained that The Grange is a group that helps fund scholarships for children living in the west plains and is active in community service.

"We served 110 people for breakfast and 142 people for lunch," Dean said. "So with just meals alone we raised over $2,500 this year."

On top of that, The Grange brought in nearly $900 in booth rental fees, and the vendors were very busy during the event also.

"We really had a very successful year," Dean said. "And the sales were the best they have been in a long time."

Dean explained that COVID had an impact for a couple of years and this may be the gradual increase that comes with the rebound from that.

Visitors may be able to look forward to a possible car show moving forward, as Dean also says the event may be expanding for future events.

"We just really appreciate the support from everyone in the west plains," Dean said. "If we can expand our events we will be able to offer more vendor space and just offer more to the communities that support us, because in the end we just want to give back."
