Rosalia students walking for hospitalized children

ROSALIA – Students here will be walking Friday, April 28, to raise funds for a local charity.

The ninth annual Trot for Tots walk-a-thon will raise money for Tough as Nails, a charity that creates activities kits for hospitalized children.

In addition to sponsoring students, residents and businesses can make a donation through the Rosalia School District.

Dollars for Scholars seeking donations, volunteers

MEDICAL LAKE – Organizers are seeking volunteers and donations for the annual Dollars for Scholars Yard Sale set for Friday and Saturday, May 12 and 13.

Donations of usable items such as sporting equipment, household goods, clothing , furniture and more can be dropped off in the parking lot from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 11.

The event will take place in the high school baseball field parking lot of LeFevre Street. Hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 12 and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 13.

CHENEY — The church welcomes you to join them on Sunday mornings for worship at 10 a.m. at 423 North Sixth Street, and fellowship time afterwards. Children have their own “Discovery Team Time” during services. The church is starting a new series on the book of Acts, exploring how God’s Spirit shaped the early church.

On Thursdays from 1-2 p.m. they are teaming up with the United Methodists for a mid-week Bible study in the book of Mark together, each Thursday in April we meet at the Cheney Congregational Church. In May we will meet at the United Methodist Church.

Also on Thursdays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Meals on Wheels will be at the United Methodist Church offering meals to seniors over 60 years old.

“We are a community of neighbors who seek and serve Jesus and who strive to create a place where anyone, regardless of their sexuality, gender expression or race can find community and feel welcomed.” Church administrator said.

“We hold as a permanent conviction that each person is treasured in the eyes of God. We welcome and stand with all who gather into the safety and fellowship of our community. No matter where you are on your journey through life, you are welcome here!”

Cheney Congregational Church has a free pantry just outside the front doors of the church.

They are also involved with Feed Cheney for a free meal and grocery distribution which will be on Monday, May 29th at 5:30 at the Wren Pierson building in Cheney located at 615 Fourth Street. No documentation or demonstration of need required.
