Construction is underway to move utilities underground.
CHENEY - Water and sewer mains, and electrical lines are being moved underground.
Installation began Friday, March 10, at Parkside Second Edition at Simpson Parkway and North Sixth Street.
A preliminary plat for a housing development was approved there in 2020, and includes 31 lots in single-family "R1"zoning.
"They are currently preparing for underground utilities, and hitting basalt right now, and if they have any blasting they have to do, they will have to coordinate with the Fire Department." city Senior Planner Brett Lucas said.
"The first edition, to the south, was completed sometime in the 1990s, maybe early 2000s."
This edition includes 15 duplexes on 16.98 acres.
