Utilities moving underground for Parkside Second

CHENEY - Water and sewer mains, and electrical lines are being moved underground.

Installation began Friday, March 10, at Parkside Second Edition at Simpson Parkway and North Sixth Street.

A preliminary plat for a housing development was approved there in 2020, and includes 31 lots in single-family "R1"zoning.

"They are currently preparing for underground utilities, and hitting basalt right now, and if they have any blasting they have to do, they will have to coordinate with the Fire Department." city Senior Planner Brett Lucas said.
