Crash blocks traffic on U.S. 195

Trailer lodged atop highway's Jersey barrier

SPANGLE - Traffic was halted two miles north of town Friday night, March 10, following a crash on ice-covered U.S. Highway 195.

Nobody was injured in the crash, but the highway was closed for cleanup.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the driver of a black Ford F-150 pickup towing a trailer attempted to pass a snowplow on U.S. Highway 195 at about 8 p.m.

The patrol did not release the driver's name.

The truck slid and slid off the rodway, Trooper Ryan Senger said.

The vehicle struck the Jersey barrier and overturned onto the shoulder, Senger said.

The trailer then struck and became lodged atop the barrier, still attached to the pickup's hitch, the patrol reported.

No one was injured, but traffic was fully blocked for several hours, a patrol report said.

An incident report on the crash did not disclose if alcohol or other substances were involved.

The report did not say if the snowy weather or speed were factors in the crash.
