Elizabeth Ann Williams

Elizabeth Ann Williams was born to Mack Olif Williams and Florence Elizabeth Wheaton in Colby, Kan., May 20, 1937. She graduated from Colby Community High School in May of 1957. She was a Majorette, played percussion and sang in the choir. She worked at the local drug store and soda fountain. She moved to Richland, Wash. to live with her sister Shirley and Brother in law Myron Hankins, attended Columbia Basin College and worked at General Telephone. It was there she met her husband James Ernest Rogers and they were married on Jul. 11, 1959. She was a past Worthy Matron of Martha Chapter Order of Eastern Star and past Guardian of Job's Daughters. She directed the children's choir, sang in the choir, and belonged to UMW and various other groups of the Cheney United Methodist Church. She was an excellent cake decorator, making many cakes for weddings, anniversaries and special events. She also was an excellent soloist and sang for events around Cheney and Spokane. She was a member of the Spokane Choral in the 1960s. In 1988 she received her degree in Journalism at EWU.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Jim, three sons Richard, James (Georgette) and Alex. One brother Richard Allen Williams. Three sisters Shirley Williams Hankins, Victoria Richard Rychlik(Ted), and Dixie Richard Leddon and many nieces and nephews, as well as, Aunts Rose Ann Williams Williamson, Catherine Williams and Uncle James Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents Mack and Florence, Step Father Robert Peter Richard, sister Marjorie Williams Brown, brother Robert David Richard, brother in law Myron Hankins, a sister in law Barbara Cersovsky Williams, and numerous Aunts and Uncles. A memorial will be held Mar. 18, 11am at the Cheney United Methodist Church.
The family requests donations in her memory be made to Cheney UMC Endowment Fund or to Shiners Children's Hospital in Spokane.
