March library programs in Cheney and Spokane

Spokane, WA | February 16, 2023 – Spokane County Library District announces its lineup of March library programs featuring 48 different offerings.

Kids, tweens, teens, and families have opportunities to create and discover something new at the library. Kid-favorite programs include Take It Apart, Building with Books: LEGO Challenge, and Play & Learn Storytime. And everyone is invited to enjoy live Irish music with Arvid Lundin & Deep Roots.

Teens can explore green screen video magic, Twisted Wire Sculptures, and a Teen Leadership Council project. And tweens (age 8–12) can discover STEM concepts such as light and shadow, flight, roller coasters, and electric circuits. Plus, create a Koinobori Carp Windsock, a diorama with marshmallow peeps, and LEGO Stop-Motion Animation.

Adults can explore activities and hobbies and other topics of interest during the following programs: Creativebug: Foundational Figure Drawing, Propagating Plants from Seeds & Cuttings, Genealogy for Beginners, Chair Yoga, Picture Book Chat, and Learning Circle: The Science of Well-Being.

Stop in at North Spokane Library during a Tuesday Memory Café to to connect, socialize, and build new support networks with other caregivers and people experiencing memory loss.

The Online SCLD Authors Series features three talks with bestselling authors: David Epstein, author of Range and The Sports Gene; Jernard A. Wells, celebrity chef and author of the cookbooks Southern Modified and Southern Inspired; and Pam Jenoff, author of The Orphan’s Tale and The Lost Girls of Paris.
