Eastern State Hospital walk-away

MEDICAL LAKE – A patient on a civil commitment at Eastern State hospital walked away from the facility on the evening of Feb. 7, according to a Spokane County sheriff’s department press-release.

Hospital staff reported to the police at 6:40pm on Feb. 7 that Silas W. Finley, 21, walked away from the hospital, according to a Spokane County sheriff’s department press-release.

The sheriff‘s report states that deputies responded and conducted a search of the surrounding area, but Finley was not located.

The following day, Feb. 8, a Spokane County sheriff’s department press-release was issued, and it stated that Finley had been located in Airway Heights and taken into custody.

According to the release, Finely may face a third-degree escape charge, which is a gross misdemeanor, for walking away from the facility.

At time of publication, Finley was not listed on the roster for inmates at the Spokane County jail.
