The rugged basketball road the Medical Lake boys have traveled this season added more ruts and potholes.
The Cardinals ended last week winless with Colville (5-4 NEA, 5-11 overall) taking a 62-35 Northeast A League contest on Jan. 24, Royal winning a non-league game 67-47 Jan. 26 and Deer Park (6-3, 9-7) prevailing 58-23, Jan. 27. ML last won Jan. 3 and has now suffered nine consecutive defeats.
Against Royal, Mavrick Rasmussen had 15 points for the Cardinals, Kaleb Cain nine and Taylor Oliver added eight.
Rasmussen again led ML against Deer Park with 10 points while Cain had seven. No stats were available from the Colville game.
With the playoffs out of the question, Medical Lake (1-8, 1-16) finish its season having hosted Freeman (10-0, 16-2) Jan. 31 and are at Lakeside Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
