Cheney library and others help locals discover businesses

Spokane County Library District is the Neighborhood Champion for four communities this year for Small Business Saturday. Four SCLD libraries are partnering with participating small businesses to help community members discover fantastic local stores in Cheney, Deer Park, Medical Lake, and Millwood, Washington.

This year, the library has extended the Small Business Saturday program to a weeklong event, taking place Saturday, November 26 to Saturday, December 3.

This event gives customers more time and opportunity to explore each town’s sights and experience the small-town feel each offers while shopping at local businesses. You never know what you may find—perhaps that perfect gift!

When you shop during the Small Business Saturday event, you can also enter the prize drawing for a chance to win a gift card to a local participating business of your choice.

Entering the prize drawing takes just three steps. First, pick up a Shop Small Passport at one of the four participating libraries: Argonne (Millwood), Cheney, Deer Park, or Medical Lake. Passports are available now. Second, shop at participating businesses to get stickers for your passport during the weeklong event. Third, turn in your passport with stickers to a participating library by 6pm on December 3 to be entered into a drawing to win a gift card. It’s that easy!

The prizes for the drawing have been generously provided by the Friends of the Argonne, Cheney, Deer Park, and Medical Lake Libraries.

Some businesses are offering specials in celebration of Small Business Saturday. To view the list of participating businesses and access a Google map for shopping in each community, visit http://www.scld.org/shop-small-2022.
