THE BITTERSWEET SEASON

In fall, the bittersweet season

as we turn to more introspection,

the flare of the colorful leaves

ignites a flare of deep appreciation

for the wonders of nature.

I wonder if it has always been this way?

I bow down in gratitude to the boughs of the trees.

Truth and beauty are intertwined.
