You are running against Eric Dooyema as District Court Judge; what is an issue that you and he differ on concerning this position?
“I am running for this community. And that is something that sets us apart. I have been a litigator, an advocate for crime victims, a supervisor, and a liaison with law enforcement. I have spent countless hours in and out of the courtroom applying my skills. Honestly, until I declared my intent to run for this position, I did not know my opponent, and as this campaign draws to a close, I still do not. But what I can say is that this community knows me. If you entrust me with the great honor of being your next District Court Judge, I will apply the law with common sense and make sure that our communities are safe.”
Eric said that “My level and range of experience, both on and off the bench, uniquely qualifies me for this position and makes me the best judge.” Do you feel that your experience better qualifies you for this position? If so, why?
“Everything about me makes me the more qualified candidate. The bar association judicial panel rating states that I am more qualified than my opponent. I have spent most of my career fighting for community safety and ensuring that all have access to justice. I have courtroom experience, composure, and am not afraid of hard work. As a criminal prosecutor, I have fought for the citizens of this county and committed myself to their safety. As a judge, I will ensure that community safety is my top priority and consider each case in light of the applicable law.”
