Mennonite auction raises more than $100K

Menno Mennonite Church has best year to date

RITZVILLE - 45th annual Mennonite Country Auction raised more than $130,000 dollars for the Mennonite Central Committee, Oct. 1. Other than operating funds retained for next year’s auction, the total amount raised goes to the Mennonite Central Committee. The Committee is an international world relief organization for “Peace building, relief, and development.” Pastor Bryce Miller, director of the church, said.

“We collected supplies for and assembled relief kits; packed with soap and first aid, and so forth, and those get distributed as the Committee directs.” Miller said. “What makes our auction special,” Miller said “is that we are part of the Mennonite Church, and relief and service is part of our way of life.”
