CHENEY – This year’s fire-fighter training program for Fire District 3 began at the fire station on Presley Dr. Oct 6. Called “Day-training” the program affords training opportunities to the entire district, the largest by area in Spokane County at 570 square miles. The district is comprised of 120 volunteers and 24 salaried employees.
The training itself involves a controlled burn structure-fire, and simulates breaching the structure, controlling the fire, rescuing persons from the structure, and exiting the building safely....
