Church to start choir

CHENEY – Cheney United Methodist Church is starting choir open to all singers in the community.

“If you like to sing and don’t want it to be just for the shower, CUMC choir is looking for you,” Pastor Damian Carruthers said Friday. “Our Christmas Cantata is coming up and singers of all varieties (really good, good, and not so good singers) are invited to participate.

The group will practice from 7-8:30 p.m. each Wednesday at the church, 204 Fourth St.

Church to open free pantry

CHENEY – Cheney Congregational Church has started a free pantry just outside the front doors of the church. Please feel free to take or leave food for yourself and others.

Pastor Matt will be giving the message this week. His topic will be “Those Poor Sailors”.

We are also involved with Feed Cheney and a food bank which will be open on Monday, October 31 at 5:30 at the Wren Pierson building in Cheney, located at 615 4th st. No documentation or demonstration of need required.

Choir practice meets on Sunday morning from 9a.m. to 9:30a.m. All are welcome to participate.

Next Sunday, Oct 2nd, is a potluck salad luncheon after church. Please bring a dish to share if you wish.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

The congregation of Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to worship with us this Sunday, Sept. 29, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Coffee hour follows the worship service.

All are welcome to use the Free Community Pantry and Little Free Libraries located at 639 Elm Street. Donations of books, non-perishable food, and personal care items for all ages are always accepted. All items are “take what you need, leave what you can.” Both are open to the community 24/7. Emmanuel thanks you for your continued support of this outreach ministry to our neighbors.
