MEDICAL LAKE – Area kids will benefit from a summer meal program offered by Medical Lake School District and sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Medical Lake Director of Nutrition Services Jill Howard said the meals would be served at Medical Lake Middle School and Michael Anderson Elementary.
“It (summer meal program) is available to all kids 18 and younger,” Howard said. “One of the locations is restricted to children that have access to Fairchild Air Force Base.”
Howard said the two locations have slightly different schedules and that participants have to adhere to the USDA meal program rules.
“All meals will be served in the cafeterias of the participating schools,” Howard said. “All meals must be consumed on site—adults are not allowed to eat the children’s meals.”
The meal program schedule is as follows:
Medical Lake Middle School
Monday–Thursday, July 6–Aug. 11
Breakfast is 8:45–9:00 a.m.
Lunch is 11:30–11:45 a.m.
Michael Anderson Elementary School
Monday–Thursday, July 25–Aug. 11
Breakfast is 8:45– 9:00 a.m.
Lunch is 11:30–11:45 a.m.
