LaCrosse man arrested for domestic violence

LaCROSSE — A local man is accused of assaulting two people and holding them prisoner Saturday, March 19.

Darin R. Barry, 51, was booked into the Whitman County Jail for second-degree assault, third- degree assault-domestic violence, two counts of interference with reporting domestic violence, two counts of unlawful imprisonment, two counts of harassment/threats to kill and second-degree malicious mischief, according to jail records.

The arrest follows the report of an incident in the 300 block of North Main Street.

Two people at a home called 911 claiming they were attacked, according to Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers. They claimed a man assaulted them, kept them against their wills and tried to prevent them from calling for help.

Additional details have yet to be released.
