CHENEY– Citing driver shortages and district growth, Cheney School District Superintendent Rob Roettger is reaching out to the community as the district plans for the 2022-23 school year and beyond.
“We would like to engage our staff and community in conversation related to current and future schedules,” Roettger said. “The ongoing growth of our district will make it necessary to continue a staggered schedule for future years. We desire to receive your feedback on this as it will provide valuable insight as we determine whether adjustments to the staggered schedule should be considered.”
The school district first transitioned to a staggered start and end schedule during the 2021-22 school year. On Thursday, Feb. 3, it launched a ThoughtExchange survey seeking input from staff, parents, guardians and community members.
“You may have differing thoughts specific to schedules for various grade-level students in your household. If this is the case, we invite you to share multiple thoughts,” Roettger said. “If you are a staff member in addition to being a parent in our district, you are also invited to complete the ThoughtExchange in both participant groups to reflect your multiple viewpoints.”
