MEDICAL LAKE – The Cardinals hosted Colville High School on January 19, and Colville came out with the team win 51 to 24.
The matchup on January 19 started with the 195-pound wrestlers facing off with Cardinal True Cole losing by fall to Colville’s Tanner Goff.
Jack Gallager of Colville received a forfeit at 220 pounds.
Justin Finley of Colville defeated Cardinal Gavin Chaffee in the 285-pound class.
Hudson Raulston came out with a win by forfeit for Medical Lake at 113 pounds.
Colville received another forfeit with Logan Ottack wrestling at 120 pounds.
In the 126-pound class, Isaac Kane received forfeit for Medical Lake.
Medical Lake’s Aden Carl won by fall over Colville’s Giovanni Gaynor at 132 pounds. Carl is still undefeated with 22 wins and no losses this year.
Cardinal Tanner Sellers received a forfeit at 138 pounds.
Colville received a forfeit with Logan Hydorn in the 145 pound class.
Wyatt Gleave of Colville defeated Cardinal Clinton Zimmerman by fall at 152 pounds.
Sheehan Connors from Medical Lake lost by fall to Colville’s Connor Goff at 160 pounds.
Cardinal Andrew Roberts fought through a tough match but lost by decision 9-5 to Robby Collier of Colville in the 170 pound class.
In the final match of the day Ian Steege of Medical Lake lost by fall to Colville’s Jonathon Gubody at 182 pounds.

Carl briefly spoke about a match in the junior varsity meet and said, “It must be noted Mason Holt, junior varsity wrestler, clearly demonstrated how our wrestlers are expected to be successful. Mason was losing 7-4 with 22 seconds left in his match and was able to reverse his opponent and score 2 near fall points to win 8-7.”
