Prepare for more snow and hazardous driving conditions
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the Spokane – Palouse area and much of western Chelan County as well. Cheney, Spokane, Medical Lake, and the entire inland Northwestern and Palouse areas were all issued a warning for a winter storm rolling through from 9 PM, Wednesday, Jan. 5 through 4 PM, Thursday, Jan. 6.
The advisory says there will be an additional three to eight inches of snow accumulation with the heaviest accumulations along and east of US-195.
Colfax, Worley, Cheney, Fairfield, Hayden, Airway Heights, Spokane, Spokane Valley, Moscow, Tekoa, Uniontown, Oakesdale, Rockford, Rosalia, Coeur d`Alene, La Crosse, PostFalls, Davenport, Potlatch, Plummer, Genesee, and Pullman should all prepare for heavy snowfall over the next 20 hour period.
Snowfall is being predicted at over two inches per hour and will certainly create hazardous driving conditions. If you travel, make sure you're traveling with flashlights, food, water, warm clothes, blankets, and boots – These supplies will be incredibly valuable just in case you're forced to walk somewhere to safety or stay in your car if you're stuck.
