CHENEY – Two-year-old Lincoln and several other dogs greeted people Dec. 4 at Wild Bill's Longbar during the Smooch-a-Pooch event benefitting dogs saved by the group Rescue4All.
The group primarily focuses on local dogs in Spokane County and dogs that suffer from megaesophagus. The group does not discriminate and looks to help dogs of all breeds suffering from illnesses, injuries, and other issues.
This year, marked the third event of this kind, and organizers said they are always amazed with the response and support that is received.
The event had raffle items from nine local businesses.
"We love to work with other local establishments to help with a good cause," Wild Bill's owner Greg Hubbard said, noting this event came naturally and has been easy to manage. "We are all huge advocates for dogs, and for underserved animals in general.
"If we can get one dog adopted during the event it's a success. I adopted my dog Applejack from the first event, and he has been an incredible family addition."
The event has been a huge success every year Hubbard said, and he looks forward to hosting future events.
