Sorting it out

Spokane County election workers use a sorting machine at the Election Department's office on West Gardner Street Tuesday afternoon to prepare ballots for counting. Ballots are run through the machine twice, first to scan the bar code and voter signature to log in that the specific voter has cast their ballot and a second time to separate ballots by precinct in preparation for tabulating.
