Primary election ballots must be in by Aug. 3

SPOKANE COUNTY — Voters are reminded that they need to have their primary election ballots counted, those ballots must either be postmarked no later than Aug. 3 or dropped in a ballot drop box by 8 p.m. this coming Tuesday.

Not all jurisdictions in the county are taking place in the upcoming election. Other than specific levies or initiatives, only races with three or more candidates are appearing on the primary ballot.

West Plains voters needing to return ballots are voters in the city of Cheney, Cheney School District and Spokane County Fire District 3.

Ballots not mailed can be dropped off at several drop box locations. In Cheney, the drop box is at the Cheney Library, 610 1st St.

Other West Plains drop box locations include the Airway Heights Library, 1213 S. Lundstrom St. and Medical Lake Library, 321 E. Herb St. Spokane drop box locations include most library branches, the county Elections Office, 1033 W. Gardner Ave. and the Spokane Transit Authority Plaza, 701 W. Riverside Ave.
