AIRWAY HEIGHTS — The City Council had a speedy meeting on July 19. After approval of the minutes of three meetings, Police Chief Brad Richmond notified the council of a new email tip line intended for community use.
The council also approved a purchase approval register of $17,256.03 to Century West Engineers. The payment was for engineering services provided by the company such as drinking water contamination issues and property acquisitions.
Changes to the Parkes Maintenance Coordinator job description were approved. The most significant change is to the title, which is being changed to Parks & Facilities Maintenance Coordinator. Other language is adjusted in the job description itself to accommodate the change in title and the scope of work.
The city also saw a resolution regarding additional affordable housing incentives again. This resolution is more of a correction. In 2018, the city provided a 50% reduction in general facility charges as affordable housing incentives on the northside of the city. Due to an error in maps, a section of the area was not included in the change. This resolution provides a 50% reduction in general facility charges for housing developments to the entire area.
The council also held an executive session, which was not open to the public.
