WINDSOR/MARSHALL — The Westwood Middle School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students placed 19 times at the Virtual State Business Leadership Conference held April 21-24.
Aftyn Tippetts qualified for nationals with a first-place finish in Business Etiquette. She and fellow FBLA member Cody Kinzer were also state runners-up in Elevator Speech and Ethical Leadership respectively, with Tippetts third in Business Math & Financial Literacy, fifth in Career Exploration.
Students Alex Greer, Cora Chain and Laralyn Akins received four awards each, with Kinzer receiving three awards. Greer was fourth in Business Math & Financial Literacy, Career Exploration and Digital Citizenship along with seventh in Business Etiquette.
Chain placed fifth in Digital Citizenship and Intro to Computer Science & Coding, sixth in Career Exploration and eighth in Business Etiquette. Akins was fifth in Business Math & Financial Literacy and sixth in Digital Citizenship while Kinzer placed sixth in Business Math & Financial Literacy and seventh in Digital Citizenship.
Tippets will be competing in the Virtual National Leadership Conference held June 29-July 2.
