Westbound I-90 off-ramp to Medical Lake/SR 902 set to close this weekend

MEDICAL LAKE – The westbound Interstate 90 off-ramp at the Medical Lake/State Route 902 interchange will be closed this weekend as Washington State Department of Transportation crews remove and reconstruct the ramp. Travelers planning on using the westbound Interstate 90 off-ramp to the State Route 902/Medical Lake interchange are encouraged to plan additional travel time to prevent delay.

The ramp closure from westbound I-90 will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 16, and continue no later than 5 a.m., Monday, April 19. During the closure, drivers are encouraged to detour off westbound I-90 at the U.S. 2 interchange. Drivers will head west on U.S. 2, turn south on Hayford Road, and then west on Geiger Boulevard to reconnect with State Route 902.

The extended detour is necessary due to the Spokane County project which has Geiger Boulevard closed from Flightline Boulevard to Soda Road. The closure is part of the SR 902/Medical Lake interchange improvement project which includes the construction of the parallel bridge over I-90.

Continuing is the reduced speed limit on I-90 between MP 272.30 and 273.35 within the limits of the construction work zone. The reduced speed limit is enforceable with fines doubling within the work zone. The speed reduction will continue through project completion.
