CHENEY – High school officials have released the list of students who have received PACE award honors in October. The PACE trait of the month was “Responsibility.”
Award winners are Gabriel Daymude, Hannah Davis, Arturo Jeronimo, Korynn Roberts, Malea Farrell, Kamalani Seehawer, Adrianna Wood, Bradley Golden, Van Vega, Sara Graham, Johnathon Palmer, Madison McKerracher, Logan Mink, Merrick Schmeets, Christopher Rowley, Monte Judd, Seth Johnson, Jake Jongeward, Koltin Baldwin, Sarah Culps, Tommy Daniels, Mathias Miller, Natalie Powell, Gabriela Chaparro, Kate Sargent, Ian Knight, Yosseline Rivas, Kaylee Lipus, Daniel Janes, Blake Wiley, Sofia Day, Samuel Laughton and Lauren O’Callaghan.
According to the program’s website, PACE – Partners Advancing Character Education – began in 2009 in Spokane Valley to promote the importance of good character through partnerships with schools, businesses, public agencies, residents, faith-based organizations and community service groups.
“Working from a common list of monthly character traits, partners promote and integrate each trait into the regular activities of the organization,” program coordinators noted on the site.
The PACE program expanded to the West Plains in 2013 as a collaboration through the Cheney School District, the Medical Lake School District and the West Plains Chamber of Commerce.
According to the website, the trait of the month for November is “Citizenship.”
