Medical Lake council shrinks EMS levy to zero, assessing only fire district and library rates
MEDICAL LAKE – Council heard the first reading of the 2021 property tax levy and the first reading of the proposed $0.00 Emergency Services (EMS) Levy at its Oct. 20 meeting. The meeting also gave updates on local preparation for winter weather, CARES small business grants and the new shelter at Waterfront Park.
If approved by council, the new city property tax rate will be $1.60 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
The city determined this rate by considering 2020 general, street, water/sewer and garbage funds and projected 2021 funds in the same categories.
