Salnave work almost done

CHENEY — The state Department of Transportation says only minor punchlist items remain to be finished on the Salnave Road repaving project.

The work began June 1 after Shamrock Paving was awarded a $3.58 million project.

The project included repaving about 4.3 miles of roadway with a hot-mix asphalt to make the road surface smoother, officials said.

Nearly 2 inches of the old asphalt has been replaced, officials said.

Expect nightly closures

MEDICAL LAKE — Nightly closures of state Highway 902 will continue this week north of Interstate 90 as the roadway and roundabouts are striped.

According to the state Department of Transportation, that segment of roadway will be closed from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Looking ahead, officials said pedestrian areas of the bridge over the interstate and traffic barriers are expected to be installed over the next two weeks.

Curbing, signage and electrical work continues on the highway south of I-90.

Traffic meters installed

SPOKANE — Traffic at the Interstate 90-U.S. Highway 2 interchange could be slowed this week as roadwork continues.

According to the state Department of Transportation, roadwork will continue on the interstate between Mileposts 279-283.

The work includes upgrades to the on- and off-ramps, including installation of meters, pavement markers, permanent signage curbing, concrete barriers and guardrails, officials said.

There will also be upgrades to adjacent irrigation systems to correspond with seeding and fertilizing.
