Cheney Congregational Church

Greetings! Cheney Congregational is currently hosting outdoor Sunday worship services in our parking lot at 8:30 a.m.

We have developed a Covid-19 safety plan that is in compliance with guidelines set up by the state. Masks are required and we are using social distancing among other safety precautions. We will be meeting outside in our parking lot for the foreseeable future.

We encourage you to bring your own lawn chair, and we will have chairs provided. You are also welcome to pull up in your car to participate in the service through your car radio. If it is rainy then we will have the service broadcasting live to your car radio, so you can still come, park in the parking lot with everyone else and participate with us. We hope to see you there.

This is a difficult time for everyone. Our prayers and blessings go out to you.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

Greeting from Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Although we cannot worship together as a congregation, we invite the West Plains community to access our website emmanuelcheney.org for weekly worship materials, sermon and Zoom fellowship. If you should need pastoral support during this difficult time, please contact pastor Arianna Arends at 509-954-5886.

Emmanuel plans to gather for worship services outdoors two weeks after Spokane County opens Phase 3, weather permitting. Will update if plans change.

Our Free Community Pantry remains open to the community and all are invited to take what they need and leave what they can. Donations of non-perishable food and personal care items for all ages are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued support of this important ministry to our neighbors in need.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit. Rev. Kathryn Lamphere, our vicar, will preach and preside, offering Sunday morning prayer at 11 a.m.

All safety and sanitizing measures will be strictly observed, in particular wearing masks and keeping social distancing. All are welcome.

The memorial service in honor of our deceased priest, Rev. Christine Soule, is postponed, and will be rescheduled later, to be held at St. John’s Cathedral. We will keep you informed.

For your contemplation: “I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

United Methodist Church

A wonderful thing to experience and express in this time of Covid is gratitude, and that is exactly what pastor Pat Sleeth will preach on this week at the United Methodist Church. “Great Gratitude” will be the theme of the sermon in a continuation of the sermon series based on Max Lucado’s book, “Anxious for Nothing.” While our doors remain closed at the United Methodist Church our worship is available online or with an at home worship guide.

You can download the worship guide from the church website at http://www.cheneyumc.org. You may also contact pastor Alissa Bertsch at 509-879-2278 if you would like be added to our mailing list for a hard copy. We continue to keep the health and safety of all in mind as we worship apart but stay together in spirit.
