Trio arrested in Geiger Heights robbery

WEST PLAINS – Three suspects were arrested last Friday in connection with the armed robbery of a man in Geiger Heights.

According to a Spokane County Sheriffs Office news release, deputies were contacted July 19 by the victim, who said he had arranged to meet an "escort" he had contacted via a website at a parking lot near Geiger Boulevard and Interstate 90. At the parking lot, the female got into the victim's vehicle and they drove to a different location and pulled over.

While finalizing arrangements for their "date," two men approached the victim's vehicle, at which point the female got out and got into one of the suspects car. Another suspect pointed a gun at the victim demanding money in addition to the money the victim had given the female.

When the victim saw the opportunity, he started his car and sped away from the scene. The Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force joined the investigation, gathered evidence and established probable cause to obtain a search warrant for a residence on the 7700 block of West Sunset Highway.

The Sheriff's Office SWAT team was called in to assist, and at 6 a.m. July 24, law enforcement served the search warrant and detained the three suspects without incident. A .45 caliber ACP handgun was located and determined to be one reported stolen on July 15.

Arrested were Mark A. Santel, 20, Angelina J. Uno-Peake, 19, and Michael A. Uno-Peake, 18. The three were booked into Spokane County Jail, Santel and Michael Uno-Peake on charges of first-degree robbery and second-degree assault. Angelina Uno-Peake was charged with first-degree robbery.
