Wilson’s listening skills needed here
On Friday, July 1, 2016, I chanced to meet congressional candidate Dave Wilson on Main Street in Walla Walla.
Being a newly retired healthcare administrator, my eye caught a reference to critical-access hospitals in his campaign brochure.
I was pleasantly surprised when he accepted my request to meet over coffee later that afternoon to talk about rural healthcare in particular and his campaign in general.
That meeting eventuated into a deep friendship that is now over four years in the making.
What I observed then, and continue to experience, is that Dave communicates as much by listening as by speaking; that he seeks out ideas and knowledge that others own; that he genuinely wants feedback on his own thoughts and proposals; that he is both fiscally and socially responsible; that he is gifted in getting people with disparate interests to work collaboratively for the betterment of those they serve; and that, without fail, he puts human interests above political agendas.
Dave Wilson demonstrates the depth of character and skill in servant leadership that will, in my opinion, best serve the people of Washington’s 5th Congressional District.
I am proud to support him.

Wilson will provide sane leadership
I am disheartened, hearing about the record number of Covid-19 cases and deaths in the U.S. Our country’s leadership to mitigate the devastating effects of the pandemic have totally failed.
If there was ever a time when the citizens of the United States needed access to affordable and compassionate healthcare it is now. Yet Trump, Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Trump’s other sycophants have repeatedly voted against affordable health care.
Sadly part of the collateral damage of poor health care is its impact to the education system including our universities as well as our economy with job losses.
Why would anyone vote for Trump or Cathy McMorris Rodgers? Cathy McMorris Rodgers, in my opinion, supports Trump’s erratic and pathological leadership.
My vote is for Dave Wilson for the 5th District in Congress. America needs sane leadership!
