Cheney clothing bank temporarily reopens

CHENEY – The Community Clothing Exchange has reopening for business — at least temporarily.

In a May 27 news release, Clothing Exchange Director Connie Oakes said they will be opening on two separate Wednesdays, June 3 and June 17.

The Clothing Exchange will be observing social distancing protocols regarding limiting any spread of the coronavirus by restricting entry to no more than three customers at a time, unless customers are in the same household. All customers must wear masks, as will volunteers.

“We have set up the check in / check out process to allow minimal contact between customers and volunteer workers,” Oakes added.

The Clothing Exchange is accepting donations, and all such items will be sprayed with disinfectant before distribution. Additionally, Exchange tables and doors will be disinfected multiple times throughout the day.

The Cheney Community Clothing Exchange is typically open each Wednesday from noon – 6 p.m., and the last Monday of each month from 4 – 7 p.m. It is located at 620 3rd Street between the Cheney Outreach and Cheney Food Bank.

“The Cheney Clothing Exchange is appreciative of your support and patience during this time,” Oakes added in the release.
