Churches

Cheney Congregational Church

The church is meant to be a place that cares for and supports its community. During this strange and anxious time, Cheney Congregational Church will suspend its Sunday morning worship and other church related events until March 25 at a minimum, in order to care for those in our community who are vulnerable to COVID-19 (coronavirus).  More updates will be forthcoming by March 25 to determine if the suspension of Sunday morning worship will need to extend beyond this initial two weeks.

Praise God that church is not confined to a building with four walls. God is still present with us all, and our prayers for the community, nation and world unite us all in spirit, even as we are physically apart.

We hope that you all will stay prudent, stay safe and stay healthy. We worship a God who has come to dwell with us in the anxiety, the strangeness, and the mess of life. God is with us.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

God’s blessings to you all. During this national pandemic, Emmanuel Lutheran Church has suspended all worship services and meetings until March 29, 2020. At that time, we will reassess if services will be reinstated.

We at Emmanuel want you to know that you are all in our prayers during this stressful time. If you should need pastoral support, please contact pastor Arianna Arends at 509-954-5886.

Emmanuel’s Free Community Pantry will continue to serve our community. All are invited to take what you need and leave what you can.

Donations of food and personal care items are more than welcome. Emmanuel thanks you for your continued support of this outreach ministry to our neighbors in need.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

We are a welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit.

Our church services and gatherings are suspended through the end of March due to the threat of the coronavirus. This decision will be revisited in early April.

The memorial service in honor of our recently deceased priest, Rev. Christine Soule, is postponed and will be rescheduled later, to be held at St. John’s Cathedral. We will keep you informed.

Alcoholics Anonymous will continue to meet every Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

For your contemplation: “Be prepared at all times for the gifts of God and be ready always for new ones. For God is a thousand times more ready to give than we are to receive.” Meister Eckhart.

United Methodist Church

Our regular Sunday morning worship at the United Methodist Church is cancelled for Sunday, March 22. An individual, at home worship is available on the church website.

All regular church gatherings are also suspended at this time. There will be limited office hours on Wednesday evenings. Please call the church at 509-235-4600 for additional information. Please know that UMC is holding our community, country and world in prayer while striving to keep personal contact to a minimum.
