CHENEY

Jan. 21

Police conducted a welfare check on the 700 block of West 1st Street.

Taking motor vehicle without owner’s permission was reported on the 2800 block of 1st Street. A 1994 Mazda pickup was taken. It was recovered on Jan. 22 by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Jan. 22

A 16-year-old female was arrested for possession of controlled substance/marijuana under 40 grams on the 400 block of North 6th Street.

Charles P. Moses, 33, was arrested for third-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS) on the 400 block of College Avenue.

Financial fraud/check scam was reported on the 200 block of South Cheney-Spangle Road.

Three 15-year-old males were arrested for third-degree theft/shoplifting and minor in possession of alcohol on the 2700 block of 1st Street and the 400 block of North 6th Street.

Jan. 23

Rape was reported at an undisclosed location in Cheney.

Fourth-degree assault/domestic violence was reported on the 500 block of West 5th Street.

A medical call was reported on the 600 block of Betz Road. Subject was involuntarily committed.

A child molestation case was reported at an undisclosed location in Cheney. Incident was referred to Child Protective Services.

Jan. 24

A 15-year-old male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance/marijuana under 40 grams on the 400 block of North 6th Street.

A child molestation/child neglect case was reported at an undisclosed location in Cheney. Incident was referred to Child Protective Services.

Connor J. Crump, 21, was arrested for reckless endangerment/domestic violence on the 300 block of 6th Street.

Jan. 25

Cruz J. Galm, 23, was arrested for second-degree assault/domestic violence on the 700 block of West 1st Street.

Karina Aguilar Arroyo, 22, and Marisol Vargas, 22, were arrested for a nuisance code violation/noise complaint on the 100 block of West 3rd Street.

Anthony J. Cable, 20, was arrested for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence on the 700 block of West 1st Street.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 300 block of Oak Street. Gas was reported taken from a vehicle.

Jan. 26

Fourth-degree assault was reported on the 1000 block of Betz Road.

Second-degree malicious mischief/domestic violence was reported on the 400 block of 5th Street.

A 15-year-old female was reported as a runaway juvenile from the 1600 block of 4th Street.

AIRWAY HEIGHTS

Jan. 7

Joseph G. Bottomley was charged with burglary, possession of a controlled substance and obstruction after officers responded to a criminal trespass complaint at Walmart. Bottomley fled as he was being detained, and an unidentified citizen “took down” the suspect, and with two other citizens assisted officers in handcuffing the suspect. The burglary charge was added because Bottomley committed a crime after being previously trespassed from Walmart.

Jan. 8

Larry W. Miller was charged with eluding, driving while license suspended in the third degree, possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and a Department of Corrections felony warrant after a pursuit ended when a spike strip was deployed near Government Way and Houston Street. The suspect jumped into the Spokane River but was later detained after emerging from the water.
