Cheney earns fourth gymnastics win

NORTH SPOKANE – Cheney’s gymnastics team competed in their fourth Greater Spokane League meet on Tuesday, Jan. 14, earning their fourth win while garnering three losses. The Blackhawks downed North Central 125.35 – 44.35, but fell to Mt. Spokane 168.525 – 125.35, Lewis and Clark 151.75 – 125.35 and Ferris 146.475 – 125.35 in competition at Albertsons Gymnastics Center.

Junior Lauren O’Callaghan led Cheney in scoring, tallying 8.225 points for third-place on the bars.

The results move Cheney’s overall mark to 4-12 in the GSL. They have two league meets remaining on their schedule; tonight (Jan. 23) at Central Valley against the host Bears along with Rogers, North Central and Shadle Park.

The Blackhawks end the regular season back at Albertsons on Jan. 31 against Rogers, North Central and Shadle Park along with hosts Mt. Spokane.
