Pastor Matt Goodale has just started a new series about “The Kingdom of God: Backwards and Upside Down.” There is a children’s area in the Sanctuary and we have a children’s Sunday school during the sermon. Join us for fellowship, conversation and refreshment following the service. Choir practice will be 9 a.m. on Sunday morning. All voices are welcome.

Youth group (grades 6-12) meet at the United Methodist Church along with youth from other Cheney churches. They meet from 4:30 – 6 p.m. on Sunday nights for fellowship and dinner. All are welcome.

Feed Cheney will take place on Jan. 27 at 5:30 p.m. at the Wren Pierson Building, 615 4th St. All are welcome to come for dinner and groceries.

“Men & Women’s Breakfast” will be Jan. 26 at 7:45 a.m. Men will meet at Marketplace Bakery & Eatery on 1st Street and the women at Bene’s Restaurant, also on 1st Street. Come join us.

The annual church meeting to discuss the budget for 2020 will be right after services on Sunday, Jan. 26. Come see what the church is about.

Feb. 12, Lincoln’s Birthday, there will be a talk on: “Abraham Lincoln, Patron Saint of American Politics” by our local expert, Dick Donley.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to worship with us this Sunday, Jan. 26, at 10:30 a.m.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, Feb. 25, for our 11th annual Festival of Chocolate benefit to help our Vacation Bible School program. This event is by donation and all monies collected will go to our VBS fund. Your donation also gives you a chance to win a “Get Fit Bag” or a lap quilt.

Ash Wednesday is Feb. 26, with worship service at 7 p.m. All are welcome.

All are welcome to visit Emmanuel’s Little Free Library and Free Community Pantry located at 639 Elm St. Donations of books, non-perishable food, and personal care items are always accepted. Both are open to the community 24/7. Emmanuel thanks you for your continued support of this outreach ministry to our neighbors in need.

We are a welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit. Holy Eucharist is at 11 a.m. Rev. Kathy Lamphere will preach and preside.

Attention all college students: The Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist Campus Ministry has begun again, meeting each Monday evening at 5 p.m. for dinner, study and worship. Please join us.

Fellowship breakfast is each Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

United Methodist Church

Please join us for worship at the United Methodist Church this Sunday. Pastor Pat Sleeth will lead the 10 a.m. service assisted by pastor Alissa Bertsch. A multi-age Sunday school class meets at 9 a.m.

Sunday evening the ecumenical youth group will meet from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. All 6-12 graders are welcome for dinner, study and fellowship.

Looking ahead we will have the opportunity to give a special offering for the “Souper Bowl of Caring,” on Feb. 2. All donations at UMC will benefit Second Harvest food bank which supports Feed Cheney, Cheney Food Bank and the EWU food pantries in addition to many other food distribution programs throughout the area. Please give generously.
