Cheney, Ritzville and Davenport to get high winds; Stevens Pass to get snow
CHENEY – The National Weather Service has issued warnings for potential severe weather overnight across most of Eastern Washington.
A wind advisory has been issued for Stevens, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Whitman and portions of Lincoln and Columbia counties. The advisory was issued for early tomorrow, from 2 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4.
Sustained winds of 20-30 mph are expected, with gusts of up to 50 mph, the Weather Service said.
In addition, a hazardous weather outlook has been issued for Ferry, Douglas, Grant, most of Lincoln and portions of Okanogan and Chelan counties beginning tomorrow.
Meteorologists said a series of winter storms are expected to bring winds from 20-30 mph, gusting to 50 mph, Saturday across the Columbia Basin and Waterville Plateau.
“Scattered tree damage may occur on Saturday as well as localized power outages,” the outlook said.
And finally, a winter weather advisory has been issued for the North Cascades from west of Wenatchee to the Canadian border.
The winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. tonight to 4 a.m. tomorrow bringing snow to the region.
“Several rounds of moderate to heavy snow will impact the Cascade Crest this weekend into next week,” the advisory said. “Accumulations of 8-14 inches are expected at Stevens Pass tonight through Saturday afternoon.
“More heavy snow will be possible Sunday and Sunday night, and again Tuesday.”
