Cheney Congregational Church

Cheney Congregational Church invites you to join us in worship Sunday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m.  Katie Walter, Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School and adjunct professor at Whitworth University will deliver a sermon on Jacob’s Ladder. Join us after services for refreshments and conversation.

If you are interested in lively discussion and fellowship then come to men’s breakfast at the Marketplace Bakery & Eatery, or the women’s breakfast at Bene’s, Sunday morning at 7:45 a.m.  All are welcome.

Choir rehearsal is Sunday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m. If you like to sing come and join in. The “Lunch Bunch” is meeting at noon, Nov. 11, at Cheney Congregational Church. Everyone is welcome to join in the good food and good conversation.

Youth from grades 6-12 will meet with youth of other churches Sunday, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church for dinner and fellowship.

The next in our monthly series, “Things I Learned Along the Way,” will be Wednesday Nov. 13th, at 7 p.m. at Cheney Congregational Church. “Transgender Identity in the Community” a “handbook” for understanding and welcoming transgender people in the community where they aren’t always assumed to be present, will be presented by Keio Cunningham. Refreshments and discussion will follow. Be sure to mark your calendars.

Church office hours are Monday 1-4 p.m., Tuesday 9 a.m.– noon and Thursday 9:30 a.m.– noon.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

The congregation of Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to worship with us at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019. Fellowship follows the worship service.

Adult education class meets in the upstairs kitchenette Sunday mornings at 9 a.m.

All are welcome to visit Emmanuel’s Little Free Library and Free Community Pantry located at 639 Elm St. Donations of books, non-perishable food, and personal care items for all ages are always accepted. Both are open to the community 24/7. Emmanuel thanks you for your continued support of this outreach ministry to our neighbors in need.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

We are a welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit. Holy Eucharist is at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside.

Thanksgiving Community Service is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 2:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, the Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist and CCC churches joining together for this service.

Attention all college students. The Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist Campus Ministry has begun again, meeting each Monday evening at 5 p.m. for dinner, study and worship. Please join us. For more information contact Soule at 844-2553.

Fellowship breakfast is each Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

United Methodist Church

Sunday morning worship is at 10 a.m. each week at the United Methodist Church preceded by Sunday school classes at 9 a.m. Pastor Pat Sleeth will continue a sermon series on stewardship with this week’s topic, “Cultivating Contentment.” The series is based on the book, “Enough,” by Adam Hamilton. A time of fellowship always follows worship. Come study, worship and fellowship with us.

An ecumenical youth group meets at the church at 4:30 p.m. each Sunday. All sixth-12th graders are welcome.

A new intergenerational confirmation class meets each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the church.
