Cardinal volleyball put season to bed

MEDICAL LAKE — The Medical Lake volleyball crew closed out their regular season with at least one loss last week to the visiting No. 3 Colville Indians (7-4, 9-5) on Tuesday, Oct. 22 in a straight sets 25-17, 25-15, 25-14.

Scores, coaching comments and statistics for Colville match and the Cardinal’s final match of the season against fifth-ranked Deer Park on Thursday, Oct. 24 were unavailable by press time.

Medical Lake closed the regular season at the bottom of the Northeast A League with a 1-10 league record and 2-15-2 overall.

The NEA district playoffs were scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Nov. 6 with No. 6 Newport facing No. 3 Colville in loser-out play with the winner facing No. 2 Freeman, while No. 5 Deer Park against No. 4 Riverside with the winner taking on No. 1 Lakeside. Matches begin at 5 p.m. The location of district play was unavailable by press time.

The final match is scheduled to take place Saturday, Nov. 9.
