Cheney Congregational Church
If you’re looking for a church, we’d like to meet you. We have Sunday morning services each week at 10 a.m. at 423 N. 6th St. After church we stay for coffee, juice, cookies and other snacks at 11 a.m. and enjoy visiting with old friends and meeting new ones. We invite you to join us.
Pastor Matt Goodale will preach from Jeremiah 2:4-13 on Sept. 1 at 10 a.m. What gives our life worth? Do we find worth in how much we possess? Or is our worth determined by the type of job we work, the activities we fill our time with? These are some of the stories we tell ourselves as we shape our lives around what is ultimately worthless and will let us down. God is calling us to a worthy life that is shaped not by what we do or what we possess, but by who we belong to. And we belong to God, who is shaping our lives to reflect God’s grace and love, which is of ultimate value and worth.
Our choir will soon be back in the choir loft, and rehearsals resume on Sunday morning, Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary. If you like to sing, please report for choir practice, even if you’ve never been to our church before. All singers are invited and appreciated.
On Sunday, Sept. 8, we will gather in the fellowship hall right after the service for a “Church Dream Session,” where the congregation and pastor can share our hopes and dreams for Cheney Congregational Church. Plan to stay around for that.
“Lunch Bunch” meets at noon on Thursday, Sept. 12, for a potluck in the fellowship hall, followed by the communications team meeting in the Fireside Room at 1 p.m.
Women’s fellowship will meet on Sunday, Sept. 15 at noon.
Church office hours are 9 a.m. – noon, Monday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tuesday, and 1 - 4 p.m. on Thursday. Pastor Goodale is also available by appointment on Monday and Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings. Our office phone number is 509 235-4193 and office e-mail is [email protected].
