Magnolia Learning Center joins federal meals program

Cheney’s Magnolia Learning Center announced on Aug. 2 its sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child and Adult Care Food Program administered by the state Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). Meals will be provided at Magnolia Learning Center, 1930 4th St. in Cheney, WA 99004, phone number (509) 280-0024.

According to a news release, meals will be made available to enrolled participants at no separate charge without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. Household income determines the amount of money OSPI will reimburse institutions to provide meals to enrolled participants. The income-eligibility guidelines listed are used to determine the reimbursement from OSPI.

In accordance with federal civil rights law and USDA civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its agencies, offices, employees and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activities in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA.

Person with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information, e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc., should contact the state or local agency where they applied for benefits. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339. Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form (AD-3027) found online atwww.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
